Sweating bullets in beautiful villages

It's late and super hot/humid, so not much time to write. We drove through several of the local towns that are designated in the group The Most Beautiful Villages in France. First we visited Lourmarin, a very lovely town and definitely my favorite village of the day -- this is where the French author Albert Camus lived for a time and is buried. We walked through the town which had a lovely war memorial and some very nice shops. I found a really nice belt, scarf and some melon liquer. We had a lovely lunch at a small bistro called L'Oustalet in Lourmarin. Le menu: Jim and I had rabbit with herbes de Provence, curry, cumin and paprika with creamed and curried zucchini, Nancy had scallops with curry. Very good. Sat next to a group of friendly young Australian cyclists who were touring all around despite the insane heat. Also met a family from Santa Barbara and traded restaurant recommendations. Next we were off to Bonniuex and then Menerbes. Both were interesting and very picturesque but it was brutally hot. My heat rash on my arms is getting worse aargh despite SPF 90!!!

On road to Cavaillon saw sign: Collèges Rosa Parks. :-)

Back to camp where we hosted Dutch friends of Nancy and Jim's who they've known as fellow campers here at this campground for over 10 years. We had a very nice chat, shared photos, etc.

Photos here including breakfast this morning and a stop to see some gorgeous sunflowers on the side of the road when we were driving to lunch. Tomorrow is supposed to be 3-4 degrees warmer than today, oy. We are most likely leaving on Wednesday to head north.
